Employee Highlight: Juan Gutierrez - Commitment to the Warfighter and the Mission

As Stevens Aerospace celebrates its 75th anniversary, we continue to recognize that our greatest asset is, and always has been, our people. Behind every aircraft we service, every milestone we reach, and every customer we earn is a dedicated team of professionals who embody the values that have sustained our company for generations. Today, we’re proud to highlight one of those individuals: Juan Gutierrez.

Juan joined Stevens Aerospace in September 2021, bringing with him decades of military aviation experience and a passion for service. His journey into aviation began in Boston in the 1980s when a visit to the USS John F. Kennedy sparked a fascination with military aircraft—particularly the legendary SR-71 Blackbird. That childhood spark turned into a career when he joined the Navy and became a pilot.

Juan’s aviation roots run deep. After earning his “Wings of Gold” in 1997, he flew the SH-60B Seahawk, specializing in anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare. Over the years, he expanded his skill set as a program manager at NAVAIR and later as a business development leader in the private sector. His transition to Stevens felt like a natural progression, fueled by his desire to keep supporting those who serve and to bring innovative solutions to government aviation programs.

As Director of Government Business Development, Juan spends his days tracking aviation programs, identifying how Stevens can serve government customers more effectively, and creating customized solutions that deliver both quality and value. What drives him most is knowing that the work he does directly supports the Warfighter—a mission that remains close to his heart.

“My favorite part of the job is collaborating with our team to offer tailored, cost-conscious alternatives to our government clients,” Juan shares. “We don’t just compete—we care. Stevens builds relationships rooted in trust, and we treat our customers like family.”

One of Juan’s proudest moments so far? Leading Stevens’ effort on the U.S. Air Force T-6 Avionics Replacement Program solicitation—an ambitious, multi-year project that could become the largest in Stevens’ history.

Juan believes success in aviation comes down to two things: passion and integrity. “Aviation is a tough industry. You’ve got to love it and live it. And you have to do the right thing every time—because lives depend on it.”

While his time at Stevens is just under four years, Juan has already seen the company grow and evolve. He appreciates leadership’s willingness to explore new opportunities and hopes to see Stevens expand into the rotorcraft space one day. For those just beginning their aviation journey, Juan encourages curiosity, humility, and a strong work ethic. “There’s wisdom all around you here. Ask questions. Listen. Learn.”

IMG_0352When asked what motivates him daily, Juan’s answer is simple but powerful: “I do this for the Warfighter. For my friends, for their families, and for the mission.”

Juan’s story is one of service, excellence, and deep-rooted passion—values that reflect the very heart of Stevens Aerospace. As we honor our 75th year, we’re grateful for people like Juan who help us stay grounded in what matters most: doing meaningful work with integrity, for those who count on us every day.

In Juan’s Words:

“Stevens is a family-oriented, safety-conscious company full of professionals who go the extra mile to keep our customers flying safely.”

Juan’s dedication to service, both in and out of uniform, reflects the unwavering commitment to excellence that continues to propel Stevens Aerospace forward—75 years strong.
