Stevens Aerospace and Defense Systems, LLC (Stevens) is pleased to announce that the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has granted the company approval to perform hydrostatic cylinder testing at their Nashville, TN location.
This approval allows Stevens to perform periodic and required hydrostatic testing on oxygen cylinders with additional capability on nitrogen and fire suppression cylinders expected soon. Turn time is the main benefit for Stevens and their customer base. By performing this service in-house, cylinders can be recertified within a few hours.
“This is a huge benefit for our customers as they can now get in and out faster when they are coming in for smaller inspections that could only take a day or two, rather than waiting on an outside source and being subject to variable shipping times”, said Kenyon Blacker, general manager at Stevens’ Smyrna facility.
Not only does this service cover aviation-related equipment, but it also services public and private sector entities needing equipment recertification for emergency oxygen and other related items used by fire departments, first responder groups and scuba diving professionals.
